It seems a little a different to the concept of value streams that I've formed in my head after reading Karen Martin and Mike Osterling's "Value Stream Mapping" and a couple other books that discuss them. I'm very new to the concept and interested in learning how others view it.

@UN58R7G82 thanks for asking. I'll explain how we're using the term and add that I'm open to insights/experiences for others to help clarify. I'm adopting what I believe Mik Kersten intends with his use of value streams in his book "Project to Product." on p. 189: ". . . the Product Model . . . aligns the value streams in the Value Stream Network to the product-oriented business results that we want to measure." and, ". . . the focus of the Flow Framework is to enable the . . . Value Stream Network, which is what provides business-level insights into software delivery. The way I'm using it is, I think, different from traditional Value Stream Mapping in lean manufacturing.

Good afternoon! Excited for the book study. Already reading and listening on Audible. Just introducing myself per the recommendations. I'm the Director of Information & Instructional Technology at a school district in California, USA. Topics like team formation, flow, general Phoenix Project/Goldratt/etc. discussions are not that common in my industry so I'm enjoying trying to grow the community. Hoping to start a Phoenix Project book study among my peers in the state so I'm going to really be taking notes on how this is ran as a global yet united book study.

I’d like to learn about the team sizes between all the members here. We, a Canadian government department, have a number of small teams for different projects that end up feeling an awful lot like teams of three or four. Certainly teams work together in some regard but when one person leaves, it creates a huge gap. How long do your successful team make-ups typically last ?
