Hello. I am an ERP developer working for a digital service provider in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hopefully I can learn some valuable lesson, insights, best practice and wisdom from all here

Hello to the fellow resistance! I am in the DFW area of Texas, and consider myself a developer, but do enjoy jumping in wherever needed to help solve and deliver solutions to problems. I am a bit of a language geek, and love “stealing” good ideas from different languages to use in my work. I also put out a podcast Functional Geekery, which I had the pleasure of getting @genek on to talk his experience with Clojure.

Teodor Heggelund08:01:48

Hello, everyone! My name is Teodor, and I'm a software engineer and civil engineer interested in how we can work in a meaningful way with knowledge. Nice to meet you all!

Philippe Guenet08:01:27

Hi, I am Philippe Guenet, French living in London. I am very much into Digital Change and believe that Agile has missed the point. I love TPP and TUP for bringing the right considerations about realising outcomes in a Digital world and bringing the concepts of flow and innovation in Complex environments. Agile in contrast has become much mindless ritualisation. I am also a systemic coach (ORSC ICF) and love working with human systems. Digital is first about people and knowledge work (and most are thinking about solutions and processes).

Rod Norfor09:01:15

Hi, I'm Rod, in the UK, working with Cloud technologies at a Large University. I have enjoyed all the IT Revolution published book up to now. Currently reading 'Project to Product', which is really good, and just started 'TUP'.

Feel free to open discussions with me to share ideas and principles as we're all continuous learners.

Tom Geraghty09:01:03

Hi everyone! I'm Tom, a CTO / head of dev in the UK. I read the phoenix project back in 2013 and it changed my career (for the better). My expertise is around high performance tech teams and how to build and nurture them, so I'm pumped to see psychological safety as one of the pillars in the unicorn project 🙂 https://www.computing.co.uk/ctg/news/3082689/psychological-safety-teams

Dejan Menges10:01:25

Hi, I'm Dejan, Senior Manager / Architect based in Berlin, Germany. My expertise is (technically) about performance and scaling and (human wise) about building small 'commando teams' which are able to do stuff in a matter of weeks and months that bureaucracy blocks for years.

Per Krarup15:01:40

Hi All, I'm a Mechanical engineer from Denmark, with 20 years of experience. Ever since I read The Phoenix Project I have tried to translate DevOps from software to a manufacturing context , in many cases this is a lot easier than expected, simply because what you have done in the DevOps movement is brilliant. I'm looking forward to this book club and hope to learn a lot more 🙂

Lowell Lindstrom15:01:04

Hi! Lowell Lindstrom from Chicago here. I was part of the team that launched the agile community starting back in 1999, having organized the early agile conferences. I've been an independent consultant since 2005 helping companies introduce agile, scrum, & lean. My current focus is helping introduce and save new Product organizations. I also teach in the engineering school at Northwestern. Can't wait to learn and share!

Brandon A. Wells15:01:26

Hi everyone. I’m Brandon Wells from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I am a Cloud Engineer. I was previously a developer and transitioned my career about 2.5 yrs ago. Im part of a Web Applications Team rolling out a cloud migration, and change our team processes of building & deploying our apps.

Mark H15:01:33

Greetings all. I'm a software architect, ScrumMaster and aspiring agile coach. After finishing the Phoenix Project, I told my peers it should have been called the Unicorn Project 😁. In my organization, my teams are facing a kind of "glass ceiling", and as I reach outside and above, I have run into "the system", with some resistance and backlash. I believe what I heard Lyssa Adkins say: >if someone, for whatever reason, does not choose to make the shift from finding their satisfaction in driving deliverables, to finding their satisfaction in growing people and environments so that they can drive deliverables, they won't be an effective agile [leader]." I hope we can map management to agile/devops, rather than continue in the mistake of trying the other way around. Huge +1 for psychological safety.

Eric Krutz15:01:08

Denver Martin (he/his) Dir DevSecOps17:01:05

Hi All, I am a Sr Manager of Cloud Ops Infrastructure for an ERP software company that focuses on Higher Education Institutions. I manage two teams trying to bring them more into an SRE approach as outlined in the "Accelerate". The Network Ops team, I managed for about 2 years and transformed them from traditional IT shop look and feel to DevOps minded and even have them looking at everything as Code and giving regular Feedback to R&D (Development). That team now partners with Dev to make sure all Network related items are considered upfront. For my Platform team, we are just starting a journey into DevOps and TPP, they are starting to adjust and are at the point where they are just overcoming the fear of automating themselves out of Job, to understanding that the new job is better and has more work-life balance.. Who wants to be paged at 2 am to reboot a server... The work will be setting up automation, moving work closer to the users and application admins, and developing better Architecture for the applications... In any case, I love TPP, and now that I am on my 3rd time through TUP I am starting to see where I can apply these ideals... I have an MBA in Technology Management, a Masters of IT and have been working in IT since 1998. I hope to start an EDBA (Executive Doctorate in Business Administration) in the fall, once I have funding arranged (not student loan funded). I want to do my dissertation on Disruptive Technologies and Disruptive Management Technics in the Software industry: focus on Cloud and DevOps.

Gauthier Delmee22:01:53

Hi all, I'm a PO and leading the Lean / Agile transformation of our Product Management & Engineering groups, which obviously also spans the rest of the business. I'm with Cyara based out of Melbourne Australia.

Guenael Voisin22:01:30

Hi all; I'm Guenael from France. I've been working for 20 years as Solution Architect , mostly for ERP integrations so not really Agile, DevOps projects; I started working on Cloud Iaas/PaaS projects a few years ago and that's when I started discovering Dev/Ops but not really having the opportunity to implement it apart from my numerous "pet projects". I read both The Phoenis Project and Unicorn Project between XMas and New Year Eve and really enjoyed them. Looking forward to learning much more !

Mat22:01:23

Hi, I'm a technical lead working on legacy code in the UK civil service. I haven't read the phoenix project but I've watched a talk by Gene Kim about some of the principles behind it, and it resonates a lot with what we're trying to do to improve things. Thought the book club would be a good way to make sure I actually read one of the books!

Johan Skoglund23:01:20

Hi all! I'm an IT Operations Manager for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. So I'm really interested in learning more about how to be more focused on flow in all parts of the manufacturing operations. So I would love to incorporate more of the thinking from "The Goal" as well and move away from the narrow cost focus in many operations organizations.
