<!here> Hello! Here is today’s discussion question as well as a link to an additional resource.
Watch the video “What is a Thinnest Viable Platform (TVP)?” at https://teamtopologies.com/resources
Conclusion, Next Steps: How to get started with TT. This is an extension of one of my earlier questions. Thank’s for a very good book and book club! Sorry if I have missed parts here in Slack or in the book, I’m a few chapters behind. My question is about how to visualise the teams in different views. Mainly based on a planned structure. The names of people should be in some user directory service (database) like Active Directory. The idea from @matthew with real-time ”as-is” views with Codescene is really interesting, but first I want something to plan with, show a ”to-be” view etc, as ordinary orgcharts usually are. The goal is to show ”team of teams” in different network structures. To visualise the architecture. So here are the questions: 1) what are the top 3 most common orgchart tools today and is there some examples to view? 2) what are the top 3 best orgchart tools today and is there some examples to view? From my experience, some common tools are PowerPoint and Visio. Not really good for the task. I have also seen different websites connected to a directory service, but only showing a hierarchical organisation.
I would really like to recommend some books etc by Stephen Denning. Thanks to IT Revolution, I found him in their paper ”Industrial DevOps”. The book ”The age of agile” is very good in explaining these ideas for people with no or little software background. Ideas that are changing every business. He compares with Copernicus. He has also written books about leadership storytelling. Here the goal is to make other people change. Here is a link from Naomi Stanford https://naomistanford.com/2017/08/ Steve Denning writes regularly on http://Forbes.com and can be seen in some TED talks and other videos. If you have similar topics, please recommend them in this channel. 😀
